Interaction program on Meaningful Participation of Women in Local Election 2074

CWAD has organized an interaction program on 21st April, 2017 at Hotel Pacific. The program was organized to sensitize political parties to ensure women's participation in local governance and to provide recommendation for political party to guarantee women’s participation in local governance. While the political parties of all hues have been claiming that there should be meaningful political participation of women, it is has not been duly acknowledged by them citing several reasons.  Against this back, the event succeeded in bringing them together under one roof for the further deliberation on the issue. The event was participated by the women’s leaders of different political parties.  The events not only discuss contextual issues in length but also vowed to maximize the political participation of women in the forthcoming local, provincial and federal elections. 


CWAD expressed solidarity on Women's Day

On the occasion of 108th International Women's day on 8th March 2018, CWAD along with other organization working in the areas of women empowerment had participated the 108 international women's day and expressed their solidarity. The rally was organized by Women and Children Welfare Ministry with the slogan " Economic empowerment along with awareness: rural and urban women living status transformation


Participation at United Nations Commission on the status of Women (CSW62)

CWAD participated in  the UN CSW62- the largest gathering of global leaders, NGOs and private sectors, UNs partners and activists from around the world- held in New York from 12-23 March, 2018. The theme of the event was Challenges and Opportunities in Achieving Gender Equality and Empowerment of Rural Women and Girls. In the conference Chairperson Adv. Rekha Tulachan and Executive Board Member, Dr. Anita Shrestha participated and shared the status of women in Nepal, existing legal provision and policies with regards to women and girls
