Nepali women face multiple forms of exclusion and subsequent marginalization due to existing power relations deeply rooted in patriarchal norms, values and cultures. Women’s lack of control over resources, control over their body and sexuality perpetuates vicious cycle of violence against women increasing incidences of domestic violence, rape and subsequently relegating to subordinate position in society.
As an active organization working for women’s human rights, CWAD will focus its programs on promoting women, children and marginalized people’s legal rights, increasing victim women’s access to support and justice mechanisms, improving access to sexual and reproductive health services, launching various campaigns name to few but will not be limited to this “anti-rape campaign”, “stop child marriage”, “economic, social and cultural rights campaign”. CWAD will partner with civil society organizations and women and marginalized people’s network to establish and strengthen support and justice mechanism for victims. Strengthening victim women, children and marginalized people’s networks and building their institutional and individual capacities are overarching programming priorities.
