CWAD organized a day-long capacity building program in coordination with the National Judicial Academy (NJA) on Rule of Law and Good Governance on the 12th of Falgun 2078 (24th of February 2022) with different commissions. Namely, the Women’s commission, Dalit Commission, Janajati Commission, Tharu commission & Muslim Commissions. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between NJA and CWAD to organize the program in the direct coordination of NJA. The program was held from 8 AM till 5 PM at Basera Boutique Hotel, Babarmahal.
In the program, the first session was facilitated by constitutional expert Prof. Dr Bipin Adhikari who presented “the concept of the rule of law, its global dimensions, development and constitutional and legal arrangement”. Likewise, the second session on “the concept of good governance, its prerequisites and dimensions as well as constitutional and Legal system” was presented by Former Chairperson of Public Service Commission Honorable Umesh Mainali. Additionally, the third session on “Good governance, transparency and its associated challenges and potential solutions” was presented by the Chairperson of the National Inclusion Commission Honorable Dr Ram Krishna Timalsena.
At the last session of the program, Honorable Biswa Nath Upadhyaya facilitated the interactive lively session to brainstorm on the ideas and topics discussed in earlier sessions and seek possibilities for maintaining rule of law and good governance in Nepal.
