Despite a strong legal framework aimed at promoting gender equality, GBV remains prevalent in the country. Thus, adopting a survivor-centered approach becomes imperative, emphasizing the empowerment of survivors by prioritizing their needs, rights, and wishes.
The primary objectives of this training session were twofold: first, to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for identifying the challenges faced by survivors of GBV, and second, to familiarize them with the appropriate referral channels available. Various methodologies were employed to facilitate learning, including role-play, group discussions and presentations, and brainstorming techniques.
These interactive approaches aimed to encourage active participation, foster networking among participants, and facilitate reflective thinking.
Throughout the training, an overarching goal was to promote inclusivity and equality across various spheres. By engaging participants in dynamic and participatory sessions, the training sought to instill a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding GBV and empower participants with the tools and resources needed to support survivors effectively. Through collaborative efforts and shared insights, the training aimed to contribute to a more informed and compassionate response to GBV within Suryabinyak, Municipality Ward #6.
