Initial Meeting with Consultants regarding Desk Review

CWAD successfully organized two different discussion meetings on 24th June 2021 and 13 th July 2021 in the presence of CWAD Chairperson Dr. Anita Shrestha: CWAD Advisor Prof. Dr. Shashi Adhikary; Ms. Neetu Pokharel, OSPC focal person and CWAD’s OSPC Project team with the legal experts (consultants) Ms. Indu Tuladhar and Mr. Sabin Shrestha regarding the desk review.

During the initial meeting on 24 th June, we brainstormed about the topics that we need to include during the desk review to make the review report and demand paper progressive and time relevant. Such as, to look at the provisions of Economic Justice of Women in Constitution, Laws, and policies. In doing so, we discussed on reviewing Labor Act, Foreign Employment Act, Child labor a Regulation and Elimination Act, Contributory Social Security Fund Act, Muliki Civil Code (Domestic worker and Renumeration related), and Employment Act.

Whereas, on the final meeting on 13 th July, we made a tentative outline of the ToR and the work division for the legal experts during the desk review. Following were the finalization of the work division along with the time frame. As well as came to an agreement to formulate a Demand/Advocacy Paper which will be used for further advocacy with the concerned private as well as government stakeholders.
