Meeting and Dialogue with Local Level Government at Kirtipur Municipality

CWAD conducted a One Day Program in coordination with the Judicial Committee of Kirtipur Municipality in the presence of local representatives, Municipal staffs, Mediation Committee Members, and Paralegals on Bhadra 2^nd 2079 (18^th August 2022).

A total of 58 people participated among with 42 were female and 16 were male. Mayor Rajkumar Nakarmi, Deputy Mayor Shubha Laxmi Shakya (Sunita), Chief Administrative Officer Rajendra Karki, GESI focal person Anuj Pradhan, Ward Chairpersons, Judicial Committee Members also attended the program.

Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality, Mr. Rajkumar Nakarmi expressed his gratitude to CWAD for organizing such an important and effective program. He further added that this program helped to aware the representatives as well as the municipal staff members about the existing provision in our Constitution, National Laws, Policies and Provisions as well as on the international instruments. Moreover, committed that Kirtipur Municipality will always encourage and support the entrepreneurs who are willing for a long-term business plan.

Likewise, Deputy Mayor Shubha Laxmi Shakya (Sunita), expressed her sincere thanks to CWAD for organizing yet another fruitful program in coordination with Judicial Committee of kirtipur municipality. She hoped that the participants were able to learn about the national and international provisions to enhance the economic justice of women and marginalized community. Furthermore, is hopeful that the participants will be able to implement and share the learnings to more people in their community level.
