The Centre for Women’s Awareness and Development (CWAD), in coordination with the Dalit Women Rights Forum (DWRF Nepal) and with the support of AEIN, successfully conducted an Orientation on GBV Elimination Fund Regulation and Policies at Basera Hotel, Dhangadhi. The event gathered key representatives from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City and Godawari Municipality, including Deputy Mayors, Chief Administrative Officers, Judicial Committee members, Department Heads, Ward Chairs, Ward Members, Ward Secretaries, municipal staff, and media personnel. The orientation focused on: Legal provisions and policies on GBV elimination. Implementation of GBV response programs at the municipal level. Fund allocation for legal aid, medical support, and survivor rehabilitation. Strengthening advocacy and survivor assistance programs through local governance. Ensuring financial and social security for survivors. Utilizing international instruments to enhance local advocacy and support mechanisms. The session was enriched by the insights of Prof. Dr. Shashi Adhikary and Dr. Anita Shrestha, whose expertise made the program highly impactful. This event reinforced the importance of local engagement in tackling GBV, promoting effective policy implementation, and building safer, more inclusive communities.
