Orientation on National and International Laws for Women’s Economic Justice Held in Suryabinayak Municipality

On May 23, 2025, CWAD, in coordination with Suryabinayak Municipality and with generous support from AEIN, conducted a one-day orientation on “National and International Laws and Policies on Women’s Economic Justice.” The event was graced by Deputy Mayor Sarita Timalsina Bhattarai, ward chairs, Judicial Committee members, department heads, and municipal representatives.

Prof. Dr. Shashi Adhikary led a session on Nepal’s legal frameworks supporting women’s economic rights, while Dr. Anita presented key international instruments like CEDAW, SDGs, and ILO conventions. A lively group discussion followed, where participants reflected on local practices and shared commitments to strengthen women’s economic empowerment at the municipal level.
