This program was conducted during the fourth day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, in coordination with Suryabinayak Municipality and with the generous support of AEIN – Aide à l’Enfance de l’Inde et du Népal.
 
The program brought together esteemed representatives, including the Deputy Mayor, Chief Administrative Officer, Ward Chairs, Ward Representatives, Municipal Committee Members, Judicial Committee Members, and Municipal Departmental Heads and staff. Their active participation highlighted the shared commitment to ensuring equitable and inclusive budgeting practices that address the diverse needs of all community members.
 
The event was further enriched by expert presentations from distinguished speakers. Dr. Anita Shrestha delivered an insightful session on “Gender Responsive Budgeting at the Local Level: Importance and the Role of Elected Representatives”, emphasizing the critical role that local leaders play in fostering inclusivity. Similarly, Prof. Dr. Shashi Adhikary presented on “International Efforts in Gender-Responsive Budgeting and Nepal’s Policy Framework”, providing valuable perspectives on global practices and aligning them with Nepal’s policies.
