Policy Advocacy with Law Ministry

CWAD on the behalf of working group network took an appointment with Honourable Minister Gobinda Prasad Sharma (Koirala) of Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs (MoLJPA) on July 13^th, 2022 (Ashard 29^th 2079), at his office premises. The objective of this meeting was to submit the Demand/Advocacy Paper to Institutionalize the Economic Justice of Women and Marginalized Group in Nepal.

As we were aware that, MoLESS were working in the process of amendment of laws related to Economic Justice. Then, after the amendment process the amendment bill will be sent to MoLJPA for finalization. Thus, we felt an urgency to submit our Demand/Advocacy Paper as a voice of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) during the amendment process in the presence of Joint Secretary Man Bahadur Aryal. To comply with the COVID-19 restriction in place, a small group of representatives were able to attend the meeting. Among which were CWAD Advisory Board Members Prof. Dr Shashi Adhikary, Senior Advocate Suneeta Regmi, and Advocate Shanti Risal Kaphle; CWAD Chairperson Dr. Anita Shrestha; CWAD Project Coordinator Prasanna Raut and Advocate Anita Neupane Thapaliya from LACC Nepal; and Advocate Asmita Dhakal.
