Policy Advocacy with Labour Ministry

CWAD on the behalf of working group network took an appointment with Honourable Minister Sher Bahadur Kunwar of Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS) on July 20^th, 2022 (Shrawan 4^th 2079), at his office premises. The objective of this meeting was to submit the Demand/Advocacy Paper to Institutionalize the Economic Justice of Women and Marginalized Group in Nepal.

As we were aware that, MoLESS were working in the process of amendment of laws related to Economic Justice. Thus, we felt an urgency to submit our Demand/Advocacy Paper as a voice of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) during the amendment process in the presence of Under Secretary Nirmala Gurung, Law Department of MoLESS. To comply with the COVID-19 restriction in place, a small group of representatives were able to attend the meeting. Among which were CWAD Advisory Board Members Prof. Dr Shashi Adhikary, Senior Advocate Suneeta Regmi, and Advocate Shanti Risal Kaphle; CWAD Chairperson Dr. Anita Shrestha; CWAD Project Coordinator Prasanna Raut and Advocate Uma Tamang from Maiti Nepal; Advocate Manisha Poudel; Advocate Dikshya Shakya from INWOLAG and Advocate Asmita Dhakal.
