CWAD organized a meeting with Gokarneshwor Municipality on 9th May 2019. During the meeting, the Mayor, Deputy-Mayor, Member of the Judicial Committee, Paralegals, Executive Member, Women Development Officer, Media Person, Ward Chair, were presented. In the federal structure of Nepal, the Local Government has given authority to enact laws and policies according to the local resources and environment. At the local government level, the judicial committee handles the cases relating to Women as well as other community Civil Code related cases, but the member of the committee needed adequate knowledge on the topic before handling the cases. Therefore knowledge, skills and capacity of the local level along with other justice providers (Paralegals, women’s groups, women’s watch groups), must be enhanced for enhancing justice at the local level.
