Capacity Development Training for Women’s Empowerment in Bhaktapur

 
CWAD organized a Capacity Development Training for Women’s Empowerment on 24 August 2026 at Bhaktapur Guest House, Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur, bringing together members of the Women Empowered Entrepreneurs Organization (Weeo Empowerment)from Bhaktapur.
During the training, Prof. Dr. Shashi Adhikary facilitated a session on women’s empowerment, leadership, and policy advocacy. During the session participants developed vision, mission, and policy-level action plans based on the businesses and livelihood activities they are currently engaged in. They discussed their goals, the programs and activities they would like to undertake, and how they can move forward and further strengthen their businesses and initiatives. They also identified the key actions required to achieve their goals and developed practical action plans and future directions for their continued progress.
Similarly, Dr. Anita Shrestha facilitated sessions on advocacy strategies integrating GEDSI and Human Rights, policy and stakeholder analysis, the advocacy cycle, communication and assertive communication skills, and practical advocacy approaches. Through interactive discussions, experience sharing, and practical exercises, participants strengthened their understanding and skills to identify issues affecting women and marginalized communities and advance their concerns through effective and planned advocacy.
The program was organized with financial support from AEIN – Aide à l’Enfance de l’Inde et du Népal contributing to CWAD’s continued efforts to strengthen women’s voice, leadership, agency, and collective action while promoting rights protection and access to justice for marginalized communities.
