Meeting and Dialogue with Nepal Law Commission on Civil Code 2074

CWAD team exchanged critical dialogue with the honourable authorities of the Nepal Law Commission regarding the progress update of reviewing the Civil Code 2074 from a GESI perspective.
 
Prof. Dr Shahi Adhikari highlighted specific provisions under the country’s civil code which are against the principle of GESI and the need for a proper review for amendments on the meeting. Nepal Law Commission positively received the feedback and showed their commitment to take into consideration the policy review document of the country’s Civil Code submitted by the CWAD.
 
CWAD had also submitted a policy review document to the Nepal Law Commission highlighting the provision-wise need for the amendments in the country’s Civil Code.
