Butwal, Rupandehi | May 28–29, 2026

Center for Women Awareness and Development (CWAD), in coordination with Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO), Nepal and district-level partner organizations, successfully conducted a two-day Follow-up Organizational Capacity Development Training in Butwal, Lumbini Province.

The training brought together executive board members, focal persons, and representatives from partner organizations with the objective of strengthening organizational capacity and promoting effective, transparent, accountable, and sustainable institutional governance.

On the first day, participants engaged in discussions on organizational development values and principles, rule of law, good governance, accountability, transparency, gender equality, and women’s empowerment. An Organizational Capacity Assessment exercise was also conducted, enabling participants to review the current status of their organizations, identify strengths and challenges, and explore areas for institutional improvement.

The second day focused on strengthening organizational systems and policy development processes. Draft policies, including the Administrative Policy, Finance Policy, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Policy, Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy, and Child Protection Policy, were shared and discussed interactively. Participants worked in groups to review, adapt, and develop policies based on the specific needs and contexts of their respective organizations.

Through presentations, group discussions, brainstorming exercises, reflection, and experience sharing, participants gained practical knowledge on institutional governance, accountability, transparency, leadership development, teamwork, and creating safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive organizational environments.

The sessions were facilitated by Prof. Dr. Shashi Adhikary, with coordination and technical support provided by Manita Panta Rayamajhi.

The training served as an important platform for learning, collaboration, and institutional strengthening, contributing to the development of more effective, accountable, and sustainable women-led organizations.

CWAD extends its sincere appreciation to all participants, partner organizations, and facilitators for their active engagement and valuable contributions in making the training meaningful and successful.
