Godawari, 28 September 2026 – The Centre for Women’s Awareness and Development (CWAD), with financial support from AEIN – Aide à l’Enfance de l’Inde et du Népal, organized a Self-Care and Psychosocial Wellbeing Session for women’s group members of Godawari Municipality–8.
Facilitated by psychosocial counsellor Kamala Budhathoki, the session encouraged women to reflect on their emotional wellbeing, recognise their personal needs, and identify practical ways to maintain balance in their daily lives. It provided an opportunity for participants to share experiences, discuss common sources of stress, and learn approaches to taking better care of themselves.
The session focused on self-awareness, the Self-Care Balance Wheel, the causes and effects of stress, and relaxation techniques to manage emotional pressure. Participants also explored practical self-care strategies, the importance of recognising personal limits, and the value of seeking support when needed.
The discussions highlighted that women’s wellbeing is closely connected to their ability to manage everyday responsibilities, maintain healthy relationships, and participate actively in their families and communities. Participants were encouraged to make self-care a regular part of their lives rather than something to consider only when they feel overwhelmed.
Through this initiative, CWAD continues to promote a holistic approach to women’s empowerment, recognising that emotional wellbeing and resilience are essential for meaningful participation, leadership, and positive community change.
